Lisa and Gerry attended the “Wheels for All” Launch event at the Alive Church in Prestatyn sponsored by a generous grant from the Steve Morgan Foundation. The Wheels for All initiative is a nationally recognised programme that embraces all children and adults with disabilities and differing needs, to engage in a quality cycling activity. By using specially adapted cycles, the activities are both physically and mentally stimulating and above all fun for everyone involved.
Over 80 people (young and old) attended from 11am, to 3pm and were able to try out a variety of specially adapted pedal cycles.
“It was amazing to watch the disabled riders enjoying their cycling. Many of them had never been on a cycle in their lives. The chance to ride the differently adapted cycles build the riders self confidence, independence and the knowledge that they can enjoy cycle riding like anyone else. It was wonderful watching all the riders throughout the day really enjoying themselves”.
